Iranian movie ‘Beyond the Wall’ is scheduled to be screened at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy.

Vahid Jalilvand’s latest directorial experience will premiere at the main competition section of this year’s edition of the event.

“A blind man finds himself harboring a fugitive, in Vahid Jalilvand’s palpably claustrophobic and profoundly allegorical film about what will happen if we become isolated from our humanity,” a short synopsis of the film reads.

Navid Mohammadzadeh, Daiana Habibi, Amir Aghaee, Alreza Kamali and Saeed Dakh star in the film.

The 79th Venice International Film Festival is organized by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera.

Officially recognized by the FIAPF – International Federation of Film Producers Association, the 2022 edition of the festival will take place at Venice Lido on August 31-September 10.

The aim of the festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.

The festival also organizes retrospectives and tributes to major figures as a contribution toward a better understanding of the history of cinema.

This year’s edition of the event is slated for August 31 – September 9, 2022.
